Terms of Service

1. Who you are contracting with
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you" or "Customer") and CARIO Intelligence Oy ("CARIO", "we", "us"), a company registered in Finland, operating the CARIO INTEL platform and related services (the "Service").
2. Acceptance
By creating an account, accessing, or continuing to use the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
3. The Service
CARIO INTEL is an OSINT (open-source intelligence) workbench that aggregates publicly available data sources, runs AI-assisted analysis, and produces investigative reports. The Service is provided for lawful investigative, research, compliance, and security purposes only.
4. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not permit any third party to:
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law, sanctions regime, or third-party rights;
- use the Service for harassment, stalking, doxxing, discrimination, or unlawful surveillance;
- upload malware, attempt to probe, scan, or compromise the security of the Service, or interfere with other users;
- scrape, mirror, or resell the Service or its outputs except as expressly permitted;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, models, or training data;
- circumvent usage limits, authentication, or rate-limiting mechanisms.
5. AI-generated output
The Service uses large language models and automated correlation. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You are responsible for verifying outputs before relying on them, especially for legal, financial, regulatory, or safety-critical decisions. The Service is not a substitute for qualified professional advice. You are responsible for your prompts and for having lawful rights to any content you upload.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, models, design, documentation, and branding, is owned by CARIO Intelligence Oy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the Service during your subscription term, subject to these Terms and your plan limits. You retain ownership of your inputs; you grant us a limited license to host and process them solely to provide the Service.
7. Payments, subscriptions and Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms and our Refund Policy.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Fees are stated on our pricing page. Plans may include a free trial; you may cancel during the trial to avoid being charged.
8. Service level and warranties
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service shall not exceed the fees you paid to Paddle for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for: (a) material breach of these Terms; (b) non-payment; (c) suspected fraud, security risk, or abuse; or (d) repeated or serious policy violations. You may cancel your subscription at any time via the customer portal. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and your data may be deleted after a reasonable export window.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold CARIO Intelligence Oy harmless from any claim arising out of your content, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. The courts of Helsinki, Finland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
